Economic Development

The Office of Economic Development continually works to help businesses find the resources and hands-on expertise necessary to promote economic investment and to help businesses prosper in Westchester. The office and Team Westchester — a partnership of public and private professionals — offers business resources, financial assistance, as well as a wide range of related services and incentives to help businesses prosper in Westchester County.

Westchester County infrastructure
Whether you're moving people, products, information and technology -- or minds, Westchester County has the infrastructure in place to make everything move smoothly:

  • Our transportation network has been completely reconstructed over the last 10 years at a cost of more than $1.0 billion. There are 3 Interstate highways serving Westchester County and provide easy access to New York City.

  • The county’s telecommunications network is a major contributor to new investment, educational opportunities, employment growth and an overall better quality of life. The 800-mile fiber optic network, initiated by the county and built by Cablevision’s Lightpath, links local governments, libraries, hospitals and schools, and helped spark competing rings that ultimately created one of the best local telecom infrastructures in the United States.

  • Westchester County's public schools are consistently rated among the best in the nation. The standard of educational excellence continues in Westchester's private and parochial elementary and high schools.

Green Initiatives
We support Green Initiatives. Take the Westchester Green Business Challenge to learn how your company can improve the "greenness" of its operations.
