Small Business Development and Support
According to the SBA, more than 99 percent of the businesses in the US are small businesses. For small businesses in need of business intelligence and competitive analysis, www.sizeup.com is a free business tool that provides information once available only to companies with big budgets. The following resources helpful may be helpful as well:

  • A Roster of Municipal Officials for each city, town and village with their respective department heads and board chairpersons. Includes phone numbers, e-mail, other contact info and links to municipal Web sites.
  • The county's Department of Human Resources administers civil service exams for 121 local jurisdictions, including cities, towns, villages, school districts, libraries, housing districts and special districts.
  • Information about the Westchester Municipal Planning Federation, a voluntary association of officials representing the county‚Äôs municipal governments, zoning and planning boards and land use consultants. Westchester County works with the WMPF to assist municipalities with land use planning and sustainable development while maintaining the character of an area.
